Welcome
Sign Language for Toddlers, Children, Adults and Differently-abled Individuals

Thank you for visiting The Sign Language Academy.

We are located in Phoenix, AZ. The Sign Language Academy was founded by sign language interpreters.  Our goal is to help preverbal, nonverbal hearing and deaf infants, toddlers, children, teenagers, and adults to enhance their communication skills through the use of American Sign Language (ASL).

Research shows that infants are capable of communicating through sign before they are able to speak words. By introducing a preverbal child to sign language, parents are empowering the child with early communication skills, thereby reducing frustration for both parent and child. Additionally, research shows that hearing children who learn sign language have increased vocabularies, improved spelling proficiencies and reading abilities, increased self-esteem and higher IQ Scores.

For teenagers and adults , ASL is an excellent choice as a second language.  ASL is the third most used language in the United States.  Increasingly, high schools and colleges are accepting ASL as a foreign language. Many adults are also finding ASL to be beneficial to communicate with Deaf individuals at work, at play, and at church.

Through workshops, professional seminars and parent/child classes, The Sign Language Academy is expanding the ability of those wishing to experience the profound benefits of sign language.
